DUBAI, May 7 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) believes that the Malaysian tourism industry will be able to weather the current global economic downturn that is affecting travel demand.
DUBAI, May 6 (Bernama) -- Malaysia has a lot to attract Middle East visitors such as a strong brand name, reasonable hotel rates and a plethora of things to see and do for those who travel with their families.

In support of the Muslim Tour and Travel Industry, the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) in collaboration with
Department of Zakat, Wakaf and Hajj, Tourism Malaysia, Lembaga Tabung Haji (Pilgrimage Fund Board) and Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Kuala Lumpur will stage the 3rd International Conference on Muslim Tourism, Hajj and Umrah - "Moving Towards Borderless Muslim Tourism" to be held in Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur on 14 May 2009. The Conference will be officiated by the Minister in Prime Minister Dept.
The main objective of the Conference is to globalize Muslim Travel & Tourism in the International scene and to position Malaysia as a prime Muslim tourist destination. The Conference will also serve as the platform for delegates to discuss issues relating to Hajj, Umrah and Muslim tour operations within Malaysia as well as between the Muslim countries.
